🔧 Key Responsibilities
🔌 Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, and control systems
💡 Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards or defects
📋 Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
⚙️ Troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure timely resolution
🔍 Test electrical systems for continuity and safety using appropriate tools
🧰 Follow all safety codes and regulations (local, state, national)
📦 Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
🛠️ Support electrical upgrades, panel changes, and power supply installations

- ITI/Diploma in Electrical or related trade
- Valid electrician license/certification (if required by local law)
- 1–3 years of experience preferred; freshers with training also welcome

The Skill Council for Mining Sector (SCMS) is the apex body for skill development in India’s mining industry. Promoted by the Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) and supported by the Ministry of Mines, SCMS was established under the aegis of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), functioning within the framework of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
SCMS is committed to addressing the growing need for a skilled workforce in the mining sector by designing and implementing robust training and certification systems. Its core mandate is the development of National Occupational Standards (NOS) for various job roles aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF), notified by the Government of India in December 2013.
As per the MSDE notification dated 17th March 2015, SCMS has been recognized as a non-statutory certifying agency for mining sector professionals across India. By collaborating with industry stakeholders, training providers, and regulatory bodies, SCMS ensures that the Indian mining workforce is equipped with standardized, industry-relevant skills to meet global benchmarks in safety, productivity, and sustainability.
Through its initiatives, SCMS continues to play a vital role in enhancing the employability and competency of workers, supporting the sustainable growth of the Indian mining sector.
