Job Role Summary
The Steward at Yash Foods plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to guests by providing courteous service, maintaining dining area cleanliness, and ensuring smooth coordination between guests, kitchen, and service staff. The position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards. The Steward not only serves food and beverages with proper etiquette but also supports in table setup, order handling, and upselling menu items.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Guest Service
- Greet and seat guests in a warm and courteous manner.
- Present menu, explain specials, and assist guests in making food & beverage choices.
- Take orders accurately and forward them to the kitchen/bar.
- Serve food and beverages with correct etiquette.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by responding promptly to their needs.
2. Table & Floor Management
- Arrange dining tables with cutlery, crockery, napkins, and glassware.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining area at all times.
- Clear tables after meals and reset them for the next guests.
- Assist in handling reservations and smooth guest flow.
3. Communication & Coordination
- Act as a link between guests, kitchen staff, and cashier for seamless service.
- Report guest feedback/complaints to the Captain/Restaurant Manager.
- Support senior staff during peak business hours.
4. Hygiene & Safety
- Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation protocols.
- Ensure food is served at the right temperature with proper presentation.
- Adhere to restaurant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
5. Additional Duties
- Promote upselling and suggestive selling of menu items.
- Assist in room service (if required in hotel outlets).
- Support in stock replenishment and side duties like polishing cutlery and glassware.
